Art Bell call-in played in reverse yeilds chilling message

A new thread has been gaining some popularity amongst the members of the ATS forums, it reads:

“Someone took the famous area 51 call and reversed the speech it. IT seems that the caller either was passing a message using reverse speech, or it is just a coincidence that his words in reverse relayed the same message?

Also, it seems that the caller says something ‘in reverse’ about knocking the shield ‘off the line’. The satellite apparently got knocked out of its place moments after [these words].”

Scientists say dark matter doesn’t exist

Two canadian astronomers think there is
a good reason dark matter, a mysterious
substance thought to make up the bulk of matter in the universe, has never been directly detected: It doesn’t exist. Dark matter was invoked to explain how galaxies stick together. The visible matter alone in galaxies—stars, gas and dust—is nowhere near enough to hold them together, so scientists reasoned there must be something invisible that exerts gravity and is central to all galaxies. Last August, an astronomer at the University of Arizona at Tucson and his colleagues reported that a collision between two huge clusters of galaxies 3 billion light-years away, known as the Bullet Cluster, had caused clouds of dark matter to separate from normal matter. Many scientists said the observations were proof of dark matter’s existence and a serious blow for alternative explanations aiming to do away with dark matter with modified theories of gravity. Now John Moffat, an astronomer at the University of Waterloo in Canada, and Joel Brownstein, his graduate student, say those announcements were premature. In a study detailed in the Nov. 21 issue of the Monthly Notices of the Royal Astronomical Society, the pair says their Modified Gravity (MOG) theory can explain the Bullet Cluster observation. MOG differs from other modified gravity theories in its details, but is similar in that it predict that the force of gravity changes with distance. “MOG gravity is stronger if you go out from the center of the galaxy than it is in Newtonian gravity,” Moffat explained. “The stronger gravity mimics what dark matter does.

With dark matter, you take Einstein and Newtonian gravity and you shovel in more dark matter. If there’s more matter, you get more gravity. Whereas for me, I say dark matter doesn’t exist. It’s the gravity that’s changed.” Using images of the Bullet Cluster made by the Hubble, Chandra X-ray and Spitzer space telescopes and the Magellan telescope in Chile, the scientists analyzed the way the cluster’s gravity bent light from a background galaxy—an effect known as gravity lensing.

MSNBC Video on Jacobs’ Creature

I am not trying to publicize this segment, but rather use it as an example. It saddens me that we have come to expect so little from our news agencies these days. Sure, there are those that claim “any publicity is good publicity”, but sometimes I wish networks wold give the paranormal a chance.

MSNBC’s latest and greatest in the paranormal. *yawn*

Ghosts and Haunted Places in Oregon

Its a long article, so here is an excerpt:

(SALEM, Ore.) – The state of Oregon holds the title to an extraordinary number of ghost stories and haunted places. The pioneer settlers appear to have left behind more than they planned to, and in some cases, the same is true for Native Americans.

Life was hard in old Oregon, as it was for pioneers throughout the west. But Oregon may have offered even more difficulties and challenges than other early settlements, as it seems more than the average number of people left this world with “unfinished business”, which seems to be the primary factor in why people become ghosts in the first place when they die.

South American monster hunt

On the 14th November 2007, five members of the Centre for Fortean Zoology – the world’s largest organization dedicated to the search for mystery animals – leave the UK for South America, on their most ambitious expedition yet. They will be searching the remote swamps and jungles of Guyana. They are looking for three elusive, potentially lethal, and hitherto undiscovered animals.

· The giant anaconda
· The didi
· The water tiger

As far as we are aware, this is the first cryptozoological expedition in search of evidence for the existence of these three animals that has ever been mounted. After months of complex negotiations, we can also announce that the expedition is sponsored by Capcom – one of the world’s leading video game publishers, who are concurrently launching Monster Hunter Freedom 2, their exciting new game for the PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Portable (PSP).

The expedition will take the five members, and their guides, deep into unexplored swamps in the west of Guyana. The area is so remote and poorly known that it doesn’t even have a name.

· The anaconda (Eunectes murinus) is the largest known snake in South America. The largest specimen shot was 28ft (9m) long. However, in the past, reports have come in from Guyana of anacondas of mind-boggling proportions, 40-60ft (12-18m) long. In some areas these giants are referred to as manatorro (the bull killer). As recently as last year, a specimen estimated at being 40ft (12m) long was observed by a party of native hunters. The giant snake frightened them so much that they fled. The target area for these monster serpents is a series of remote lakes in the grasslands.

· The didi is a more nebulous beast. It is said to walk upright like a man and be armed with scythe-like claws. It is alleged to tear out the tongues of living cattle, and leave swathes of terror in its wake. Although this last attribute may well be apocryphal, the claws in particular recall the supposedly extinct giant ground sloths or mylodonts. These bear-sized herbivores supposedly died out ten thousand years ago, but reports from across the Amazon, and surrounding areas, suggest they may well still survive.

· The water tiger is an aggressive aquatic animal said to have pointed teeth and webbed, human like hands. In the past, it was reported to have attacked both people and livestock. The water tiger may be based on reports of the rare giant otter (Pteronura brasiliensis) which can grow to a length of 6ft (1.8m).

The group intend to interview native witnesses to gather information on the animals and search the grasslands and lakes for evidence. They are being guided by Damon Corrie – a chief of the Eagle Clan Arawak tribe – who is also one of the few people to have visited the area in question.

The group consists of:

· Dr Chris Clark, engineer
· Lisa Dowley, photographer
· Richard Freeman, cryptozoologist
· Jon Hare, science writer
· Paul Rose, journalist

Photographs, a press pack, and further information are available, and expedition members are available for interview. Please contact Jon or Corinna at the CFZ Press Office on +44 (0)1237 431413.

Listener of The Tom Bauerle Show shows off photos of an ‘invisible’ ufo

Due to copywrite issues, I’m not going to post the article… click here to view it.

On Saturday October 20, at around 11:00 pm, a 22 year old Amherst man on a trip to San Fransisco took several photographs of the bay area, only to discover later that he had snapped pictures of a large illuminated object hovering over the water.

When I first clicked on the link, I scrolled down to the pictures, and  I immediately determined that they were a time-lapse image of a helicopter or plane with a steady white light, a steady red light, and a flashing red light. However, it is stated in the interview that this event happened over a period of 30 seconds. That pretty much rules out a plane. Also… the water appears to be illuminated from the lights, even though no lights were actually witnessed at the time the photos were taken.

I visited San Fransisco this past summer, and I know the exact location where he was taking the photos from. Anyway, read the article for yourself, and I will post any new updates.

Ghost hunter claims ‘walkie-talkie’ allows communication with dead

By Joe Hadsall
THE JOPLIN GLOBE (JOPLIN, Mo.)
JOPLIN, Mo. Students from Missouri Southern State University crowded around the dining room table at the Prosperity School Bed and Breakfast, as if they were gathering for a seance.

The only sound in the room came from a small box held by a man dressed in black and seated at the head of the table. With his long, red hair tied into a ponytail, he fiddled with a blue metal box, about the size of a cigar box, with a yellow wire hanging from the top.

The box spat out static and other unintelligible noises. But the man in black talked to it. He sounded frustrated, as if he were talking on a cell phone getting bad reception.

“He wants to go outside,” he said.

The sound of people getting up from heavy, wooden chairs filled the room, but not enough to silence the static pops coming from the box. The man in black and the students filed out of the dining room and walked toward the front stoop.

He sat down on the steps, illuminated by the inside lights of the former school and by an almost-full moon. The students crowded around him, taking pictures and listening intently for a message in the static.

“Are you there?” the man asked into the box. “Where are you?”

As if in response, a sharp sound came from the box and sent chills down the spines of the crowd.

“Right,” said a girl’s voice.

“To my right?” the man asked. “Who is this?”

“I’m saying my prayers,” came the voice from the box in scrambled static.

“What’s your name, sweetheart?” the man asked.

Static. Silence. Then, “Sadie.”

NASA to search files on ‘65 UFO incident

NASA has agreed to search its archives once again for documents on a 1965 UFO incident in Pennsylvania, a step the space agency fought in federal court. The government has refused to open its files about what, if anything, moved across the sky and crashed in the woods near Kecksburg, Pa., 40 miles southeast of Pittsburgh. Traffic was tied up in the area as curiosity seekers drove to the area, only to be kept away from the crash site by soldiers. The Air Force’s explanation for the unidentified flying object: A meteor or meteors.

“They could not find anything,” one Air Force memo stated after a late-night search on Dec. 9, 1965. Several NASA employees also were reported to have been at the scene. Eyewitnesses said a flatbed truck drove away a large object shaped like an acorn and about the size of a Volkswagon bus. A mock-up based on the descriptions of local residents sits behind the Kecksburg Volunteer Fire Department. UFO enthusiasts refused to let the matter die and journalist Leslie Kean of New York City sued NASA four years ago for information. The agency has turned over several stacks of documents which Kean says are not responsive to the request, an argument that U.S. District Judge Emmet Sullivan agreed with.

In March, Sullivan rejected NASA’s request to throw the case out of court, resulting in negotiations that led to the agency promising last week that it will conduct a more comprehensive search.
