Mermaid Found: 1917
Hat tip to cryptomundo.com:
The skeleton of a creature half human and half fish, which scientists say is more than 4,000 years old, has been found on the coast of China. Its discovery, embedded deep in a sandy shore, has revived the old question of whether mermaids have ever existed. This skeleton is accepted in some quarters as conclusive proof that there were such creatures, long famed in the lore of many lands.
The strange relic which has come to light after centuries had a head, shoulders and arms like those of a woman, as proved by the formation of the bones and skull. The lower half of the body became petrified, and in all respects was like the tail of a fish, with several fins. On the head and the upper portion of the body a shriveled skin was found, similar to that of an Egyptian mummy. If further proof were needed, it would seem to be supplied by a few strands of hair on the head. Dermatologists have decided that this was once flaxen and grew abundantly.
Every story of a mermaid pictured a goddess-like creature sitting upon a rock in the sea, combing her hair. Almost every one of the ancient races left behind them accounts of the mermaid. These have been discredited for ages, being grouped with other myths such as the Greeks entertained. The sea serpent and dragon of such terrible aspect as described by writers of old were ranked with the mermaid as a figment of imagination. But the discovery of this skeleton discredits all the theories of civilization and brings to the fore once more the question so often asked – were there really mermaids?
The name mermaid is of Teutonic origin, corresponding with triton and siren as used in antiquity. The Chaldeans called this creature Oannes, the Chinese named her Wimpus, and even our own American Indians have a legend of the mermaid, in which they term her Ottawes.
It has been one of the unexplained points of the mermaid legend that so many peoples in such distant parts of the globe believed in the reality of a creature half woman and half fish. It would be hard to imagine two races further apart than the Chaldeans and the Indians. But both knew of the mermaid.
The skeleton found in China is considerably smaller than the proportions of a mermaid, according to popular conception, which invests her with a form much the same as that of a woman. It is pointed out, however, that this skeleton might have belonged to a dwarf of the species, or to a kind of fish which is said to have been common in Chinese waters about 6,000 B.C. And it is conceivable that the creature might have grown to larger size in a different clime. Whatever the truth, the finding of this skeleton opens anew one of the most fascinating chapters in the lore of mankind.

“Lizard Man” The story continues…
The recent sightings of the supposed “Lizard Man” continue to emerge. Here is the latest development in the story, involving the dead bodies of a cow and a coyote near the scene of the first incident.
Content from WIS News 10:
LEE COUNTY, SC (WIS) – We have been following a renewed investigation into the “Lizard Man.”
Thursday we have learned that two dead animals were found in a field near the home of Dixie and Bob Rawson. The Lee County Sheriff’s Department says it could be linked to some pretty serious damage to the Rawson’s van.
Last week, the Rawsons showed us how the van’s front grill was chewed up, and how the wheel wells on both sides were bent. When some of the Rawson’s cats went missing too, neighbors said the “Lizard Man” might be responsible.
You can view the video cast here.

Orange burning object seen in Kingscliff skyline
Annette Van Zetten was at home entertaining friends around 5:30 pm, Wednesday evening, when she saw a bright orange object moving across the sky.
Greg Swaney, Mrs. Zetten’s friend, called police, fearing that a plane was in trouble. An RACQ CareFlight helicopter and ground crews were sent to investigate his report, but turned up empty handed.
“It just sort of looked like an orange glow,” she said. “The shape of it was like a flying saucer.
“It didn’t look like a plane. It was definitely going down and then we saw black smoke so that’s when we thought perhaps a plane was on fire.”
Mrs. Zetten said that she couldn’t judge the size of the object, but she did offer that it may have been as close as 10km from her residence, very close to Cabarita, a neighboring town.
Police say that while witness reports such as these add some credibility to cases similar to these, in all likelihood the object was only a bolide.

Stephenville Symbols – Full David Caron Video Leaked… And Debunked?
ATS member AnnunakiX recently created a thread entitled “Stephenville Symbols – Full David Caron Video Leaked!!”. Here is the original posting:
The David Caron video seems to have been leaked on YouTube finally! Full video and audio. Very, very interesting indeed.
It’s about time.
Here is the Youtube video the member provided:
Shortly after reading this post, I clicked on a link to the Lights Over Texas website (which you can find here), and looked around their site for more information on these sightings. Now, supposedly the person in the above video was steadying his camera against a vertical object, but of course this is subjective. If distance is factored in, the only thing that is going to get a stable picture is a tripod of some sort. Also, the camera man told reporters that the vertical object he was using as a brace was a pole. If the pole was rounded as apposed to squared, we can already start to see shakiness as an issue.
Now, as I read on, I found another post that dealt with this very same issue:
Hand held, steadied against upright (building corner)
Night Alive mode
34x Optical zoom, manual focus at infinity
Subject: Canis Majoris/Sirius – AZ 172, EL 40, 2015 CST/05 MAR 08
As you can see, this camera is being braced against a building corner which one would only have to assume is much more stable that even the sturdiest poles. The result can be found here(part two of the experiment to recreate Caron’s video)
I did manage to find part one of the experiment on Youtube. Here is the information he provided for us:
I shot this video not 20 minutes ago (around 2215 CST) with a JVC GR-D770U 34x Optical Zoom, handheld, with Canis Major aka Sirius centered in the viewfinder. I believe you’ll agree the results are consistent with the Caron video.
And here is the result… very similar, eh?

Fresh tests on Shroud of Turin
The Oxford laboratory that origininally announced that the Shroud of Turin was a fake some 20 years ago is now re-investigating its claims that its original test results were botched. The head of the world-renowned lab is remains skeptical that an error would have cause the results to deviate more than a thousand years, but he says that he wants to keep an open mind. The original carbon dating was carried out on a sample by researchers working separately in laboratories in Zurich and Arizona as well as Oxford. Christians were dissapointed, to say the least, when the carbon dating tests conducted on the four meter linnen cloth dated it to the medieval era, but these recent turn of events are sure to re-ignight speculations about the shroud. The results will form a segments of a documentary on the Turin Shroud that is scheduled to broadcast on BBC 2 on Easter Saturday.
